Our Mission

Every family raising a child with neurodivergence deserves to feel informed and heard by the systems meant to serve them (schools, community organizations, etc.). However, the families who need the most support have access to the fewest resources, especially across Tennessee, where schools have thin special education staff and support specialists. This leaves parents to review legal documents on their own, and children whose needs go unmet because no one has the resources to assist and comprehend every stage of the process.

This resource hub was created in response to this observation in order to bridge that gap. Developed in collaboration with the L.B.J & C. Head Start organization, schools across Middle Tennessee, and numerous family interviews, the hub brings together easy to understand tools for parents and caregivers. It includes simple explanations of special education terms, templates for advocating on behalf of your child in IEP meetings, as well as information on how to access services close to home. The goal is to make information understandable so families can use it as support inside classrooms, homes, and communities.
